Photos of Milwaukee Downtown, Milwaukee Riverwalk, Miller Park Stadium and Milwaukee Brewers (baseball and beer!)
Milwaukee Downtown Theater District
Milwaukee is home to several theaters and performance facilities.
The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts is one of the largest. Home to the Milwaukee Symphony, the Milwaukee Ballet, the Florentine Opera, and the Broadway series of touring productions, the Marcus Center always has something going on.
At night, there are lights on the building that change color - I love the blue lights best because it makes the building look like an ice palace!
Riverwalk - Downtown Milwaukee
Like many cities, Milwaukee has been working on improving the downtown area. One of the results is the riverwalk, a pathway along the Milwaukee River which cuts through downtown. The riverwalk connects the converted warehouse condos and businesses that front the river, and many of the restaurants have added outdoor cafes, too. There are also sightseeing boats that dock on the river - a great tourist activity on a nice summer day!
Miller Brewing Headquarters (Miller Valley)
The beer barons of the past built this city, and the largest remaining brewery (of the "old guard") is Miller Brewery. Their logo is the "Girl in the Moon", and it is evident all around the grounds. This antique-looking medallion is part of a roof support along a sidewalk.
This is a vintage bus promoting Miller Hi-Life ("the champagne of bottled beers"!)
Miller Park Baseball Stadium
Miller Park in Milwaukee is named for the Miller Brewing Company, is home of the Milwaukee Brewers. Miller Park Stadium is known for its retractable roof (handy in Wisconsin weather, especially in spring and fall) and its Sausage Races!
