Masimba Hills Safaris - Womens Tour

12 days of bush and beach experience

The Women Tour will take you through the Mt. Kenya Region, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Sweetwaters to Samburu for Wildlife and culture. On the way to Maasai Mara through breathtaking Rift Valley, spend a night in Lake Nakuru National Park, a Rhino Sanctuary and home of Flamingoes. Day or night game drives in Mara, accommodation in comfortable tented Lodges, village visits and Guided Walks and trekking as you watch game. The safari for women ends at the beach, enjoy Kayaking, Snorkeling, Swimming with Dolphins (weather allowing). A true African Experience! Take a trip to Kenya, Africa Now!

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by our representative and transfered to PrideInn hotel for dinner and overnight.(Time allowing, an orientation of Nairobi city will follow).

Day 2: Nairobi-Mt. Rock Lodge
Depart for Mt. Kenya Region by Road after breakfast. Arrive in time for lunch at Lodge. Immediately after lunch depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, it is a privately owned 24,000 acre Game Sactuary that also hosts the Chipanzee and Rhino santuaries and also is home for the big five. You will enjoy a magnificent view across the plains to the snow-capped peaks of Mt. Kenya if weather allows. After the game drive return to Rock Mountain Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Mt. Rock Lodge–Samburu

Breakfast and checkout. Depart for Samburu. The Samburu National Reserve provides one of the few sanctuaries in Kenya for the endangered Grevy’s zebra, the rare beisa oryx and the blue-shanked Somali ostrich whilst large herds of elephants roam the gaunt hills during the day before returning to bathe on the banks of the river in the evening. Arrive and check in at Samburu Lodge, thereafter lunch and relaxation. At 1600hrs you will proceed on an afternoon Game drive. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Game Lodge.

Day 4: Samburu –Nakuru
Early morning breakfast followed by checkout. A game drive is provided for as you depart Samburu National Reserve for Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru National Park is located right on the floor of awe-inspiring Rift Valley. This soda lake is ridged by picturesque hills giving a wonderful view of the whole expanse of the lake shores, drawing many aquatic birds along with countless flamingos whose flight makes a pink cloud against blue water. With our packed lunch we shall proceed to the park for our game driive and picnic lunch.At 1800hrs we shall depart for Bontana Hotel situated outstide the park for Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Nakuru-Masai Mara
After breakfast, a game drive enroute as you depart Nakuru for Masai Mara National Reserve by Road. The park is a pristine wilderness of haunting beauty, it promises the visitors a profusion of wildlife, prolific bird life and the unprecedented opportunity of catching up with all the members of the 'Big Five' in one morning. Arrive in Maasai Mara in time for lunch at Mara Sentrim. Afternoon game drive is provided for. Optional: walk or visit to cultural village at an extra cost. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sentrim.
Day 6: Masai Mara
Early Morning game drive to explore the park further and look for a possible kill for the early hunters. Return to Lodge for Breakfast and relaxation. Lunch follows later on. In the afternoon another game drive is provided for in the Mara National Reserve. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sentrim Lodge.

Day 7: Masai Mara-Nairobi
After breakfast, depart for Nairobi and upon arrival have lunch. Checkin at PrideInn Hotel. Dinner and overnight. Optional: City tour of Nairobi at extra cost.

Day 8: Nairobi Mombasa

Early breakfast then depart for the coastal town of Mombasa. Arrive late afternoon, checkin and relaxation. Dinner and overnight at Sentido Neptune.

Day 9: Mombasa

You have a full day at Leisure. Breakfast is served from 0730hrs – 0930hrs. Lunch is on own cost. We have organized a city tour of Mombasa to sample some of the Swahilli (local) cuisine.You can also visit the Old Arab Town, you will see the intricate hand carved doors, and balconies hanging over the narrow streets, unchanged for hundreds of years.

You shall visit Fort Jesus which was built by the Portuguese over 400 years ago to protect their interest in East Africa against Omani Arabs. See how it went from a fort to a prison, to a tourist attraction.The afternoon is at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Sentido Neptune.

Day 10: Mombasa
This is the day of your ultimate pleasure and adventure. In the early morning after breakfast, you will leave for the small fishing village of Shimoni. The village is amongst the oldest town with some historical remains, is not far from Tanzania border Lunga lunga.

A Swahili sailing dhow , now motorised, carries you leisurly through an enchanting seascape of islets and reefs to the wonderfull marine sites of kisite. Time means nothing here as you float in the world of marine fantasy.

Kisite marine park, being one of the best parks in the world, is where you will do your snorkeling, the coral garden, inhabited by thousands of different types of fishes and sea creatures. You will be able to experience one of the lasting memories of these beautiful marine species, which will fascinate you to the end.

After the experience of the snorkeling at the marine park, you shall sail with the dhow along the islands of archipelago. During the sailing you will be able to see armies and schools of dolphin which inhabits along the islands, if weather permits. Furthermore being accompanied by professional captain will definitely make the trip more fascinating.

Lunch will be at Wasini Mpunguti Lodge, which serves fascinating seafood with other Swahili cultural dishes like Giant Island Crab served on wooden plate, coral sea weeds cooked in coconut milk and many more.

After lunch you will be taken for an island tour where you will see the coral gardens and culture of the island people. You need to take sun protection kits, sandals or tennis shoes and cover up dresses, sarong or kikoi for a visit to the Muslim village of Wasini. (Goggling equipment can be hired before boarding the dhow at shimoni)

A boardwalk on the mangroves bridge extends from the end of the village out through the fossil coral garden in to the fabulous world of mangroves and sea birds nesting areas.

After this we return to the Hotel, Dinner and overnight at Neptune Sentido.

Day 11: Mombasa- Nairobi

Day in Mombasa at Leisure. Dinner and overnight at Sentido Neptune. Optional: Dinner on the tamarind dhow, unforgettable experience at an extra cost of USD 75.

Day 12: Nairobi-Outbound departure
After an early breakfast depart for Nairobi and later be transferred to JKIA airport for your flight.
