Lexington Photo Gallery

The Lexington Photo Gallery is all about Thoroughbred horses. Lexington celebrates their horse training and racing history with Thoroughbred Park and the Kentucky Horse Park; and winners are stabled and trained at the Thoroughbred Training Center.

Thoroughbred Park

Thorogbred Park in central Lexington celebrates the state's history of horse racing with life-sizes sculptures of Thoroughbred horses. The entrance to the park features this pretty colt.

Life-sized bronze horses depicted in a race.

Even though they're sculptures, it's a little scary standing in front of these charging horses!

In the background, more bronze horse graze peacefully.

Kentucky Thoroughbred Center

The entrance to the Kentucky Thoroughbred Center, where horses are stabled, exercised, and trained for racing.

An early morning run to exercise the horse.

One of the stables at Kentucky Thoroughbred Center, this one belonging to Cameron Farms.

Kentucky Horse Park

Bronze foals frolicking at the entrance to the Kentucky Horse Park. The Park has exhibits on the history of all horses in the U.S. (not just race horses), and is a "retirement home" for a few Derby winners.

Legendary race horse Man 'O War is buried beneath this statue at the Kentucky Horse Park.

My personal favorite horse, Secretariat is honored with this statue at the Kentucky Horse Park, but is buried at the nearby farm of his owners.
