If you love Christmas but can't make it to Nuremberg or Prague to visit a traditional European Christmas Market, just head to Chicago this fall!
The Christkindlmarket held yearly at Chicago's Daley Plaza is the next best thing - it's huge, and it offers much, much more than booths of hot cider, chestnuts, and hand-made gifts (although there are lots of those, too!).
The market also hosts entertainment from bell choirs to a performance of "The Christmas Schooner", and lots of choral performances.
But of course, the highlight of the market is the food and gifts available from all over Europe. You'll find pewter, blown glass, Bavarian clocks, hand-made lace, ceramics, hand-carved wood - and so much more!
Now, there's a second market at the Oak Brook Center! The Oak Brook market runs from November 27 - December 24, 2016
