Camping in Australia, Africa or India isn't called"glamping", but it's essentially the same thing - an outdoor experience in a luxurious tent enclosure.
You don't have to "rough it" in the Australian Outback, on an African Safari or an Elephant safari in India - there are comfort and luxury camping options in these areas, too!
Luxury in the Australian Outback
- Longitude 131 is an eco-sensitive luxury resort in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, right in the heart of the Australian continent. This is a very high-end tent resort, with a maximum of 30 guests at any one time. But the views of Ayers rock are spectacular! A 3-night package is about $2400 per person (USD), including meals and drinks.
is a women's only Africa Safari offered by Abercrombie and Kent. This is an 11-day luxury safari (including travel to and from the US) through Botswana, with stops at Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park, and Okavango Delta. Wildlife is abundant on this tour, and you'll get tips from and expert photographer to enhance your photos. You'll stay in safari tents on raised platforms, and in thatched-roof cottages. Prices are $7000 including air from the US and all meals.

India
- Camp Forktail Creek ,in the Corbett Tiger Reserve located in the mountains of northwest India, offers birding and elephant safaris in addition to tigers and crocodiles. The elephant safari is an 8-day trek through the reserve, riding an elephant, while exploring local villages and interacting with all of the wildlife in the park. Rates start at $100 per night.
