Amazing Improv Comedy

When you visit Chicago don't forget that you are coming to the birthplace of modern Improvisational comedy. Most nights you can find some of the most talented professionals playing at locations such as Improv Olympic, The Annoyance Theatre and the Second City. You'll see the game-style formats that you are used to from TV programs such as "Who's Line Is It Anyways?" but one of the truly amazing experiences that you'll have is seeing long-form improv in which the players invent a play in front of your very eyes.

Many of these shows can be seen for cheap or even free. If you really want to get the most bang for your buck, check out off-off campus, at the University of Chicago. With strong connections to Second City improv, they are the longest running student improv group in the country! And, they are funny as anything. Shows often sell out, so show up a little early to make sure you get a seat.
